Grade 5

For our school art show each fifth grader created an abstract landscape using chalk. It was a beautiful day in our court yard classroom so we were able to work outside and avoid a huge mess.

Fifth Grade created robot paintings.  After reading Shel Silverstien's The Homework Machine, we discussed robots and how they can help or hinder our society.  We looked at robots and their 'functions.  They sketched and planned different things they would like to help our world and community with. Their insight blew me away!

PLAYFUL STRUCTURE

This lesson was a blast! The students were placed into groups of four. Their challenge was to create a play structure model that had at least five attributes from architecture from ancient civilizations.

One fifth grade class had to be held in the classroom so I decided to do more of an architecture lesson.  Students used ancient civilizations and other architecture inspirations from other cultures to create a fun playful structure drawing.
